Finding Trustworthy Nutrition Facts Online
Finding trustworthy, reputable, and scientifically sound nutrition advice and information online can be as hard as finding a needle in a hay stack. It can be hard to tell the difference between what is fact and what is fiction. I have put together a list of websites you can trust to give you the truth about food, nutrition, and health.
The voice behind NutritionFacts.org is Dr. Michael Greger, a physician and vegan nutrition expert. Even if you are not vegan (I am not) this site is a virtual smorgasbord of nutrition news and research just begging you to feed on its tasty facts. Expect to find articles and videos revealing ways plant based foods and herbs can be used to prevent and treat disease.
Nutrition411, also known as RD411, is geared towards the nutrition professional. The education materials are a great source of nutrition facts.
Similar to Nutrition411, Today's Dietitian is also tailored to those in the nutrition field. The Health & Nutrition Center link (the first tab on the left side of site's tool bar) will sweep you away to a site with articles and recipes to help you make informed nutrition decisions.
Dr. Andrew Weil is a medical doctor with an integrative approach to medicine. His site includes loads of information about eating an anti-inflammatory diet.
